Video: TransCanada Operating Heavy Machinery 20 Feet From Tree Blockader (Day 15)

TransCanada not only has shown complete disregard for the health and safety of families living along the route of its toxic pipeline its also endangering the lives of our friends in the trees by operating heavy clear-cutting machinery dangerously close to the tree blockade. This corporation has proven time and again that they are willing to plow over anything, or anyone, who stands between them and their profits. Just watch this terrifying video.

You can support the campaign by donating essential supplies on our wish list.

I am so proud of you! I am so against these corporations and the devastation they leave in their path!

In Canada, we are deeply ashamed of what this terrible company (which uses the name of our country in vain), and Enbridge, and all the tar sands diggers are doing.

We support your efforts, and we ask that you support our efforts –
to stop the tar sands, stop the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline, and stop the reversal of Line 9 (which would carry tar sands crude eastward to Montreal and to Portland Maine).

Day 15, whatever hell it’s been a week since that machine was there. You think you’re stopping something, you are not stopping anything. Clearing crews are several miles down the right of way. Y’all are delirious, just trying to get more donations. I’ll give you this you certainly are entertaining. I also saw your wish list i will be sending you a case of condoms, you dumb asses certainly don’t need to reproduce.

    1. Jane Gerard CPDT-KA

@ jd I would rather have children by a man who was prepared to do anything to protect the last of the forest for our children ( that means yours too,) then reproduce with a man who thought nothing of destroying the forest, that means you.

      1. jd

If it was “the last of the forest” it would be different but it is not. It is a 100 foot row. Thousands of trees are planted
Each year. So you can get off your high horse. Probably don’t have children do you? If you did you would know you fo whatever you have to to provide for them.

    2. Crash

jd– If the blockade is not being effective, then why are TC’s henchmen still surrounding the village? Get back under your bridge.

      1. jd

I told you yesterday i would be glad to. But it is still overcrowded with all you dumb-asses.

      2. jd

Oh and to answer your other question, i figured that was obvious, any dumb ass should know that. But i guess i was wrong. So here is the answer. If they are stuck in the trees they can’t screw with anything else. And i would appreciate you dumb-asses getting out from under my bridge.

These are great people trying to save a viable future for our children. When all is said and done we should think of some awards to give them for standing up to the corruption of our government/industry cabal and now court system given over to money interests. It will come down to people of Canada and People of US vs our sold out government if no intervention. Campaign to defund TarSands industry should begin and grow to liken the S African Apartheid halt.

I kind of have a problem with my money going to tobacco purchases.
    Really??

    1. Jesse Douglas

What do you mean? -Curious bystander

    2. Steve McCroskey

      @S:

I really have a problem with your “purity over process” regarding the personal habits of these people in a stressful situation.
It is Columbus Day, so may we please overlook the evils of tobacco and focus on the evils of stealing land and the continued oppression of indigenous peoples in pursuit of profit?
The Great American Smokeout is November 15th, so please clear the air with your reservations about the Indian-introduced leaf at that time.
      Really.

When you make a living as a protestor, then yes, you rely on other people’s donations for ALL of your needs. This is all these people do, and while they’re receiving their applause from the environmental movement, we’re working hard to earn a paycheck so we can pay the taxes on the land that they claim to be defending. This blockade has co-opted the message and voice of East Texas landowners who are being crossed by the pipeline, with a dogmatic environmental message. The blockade came in and took over and took advantage of landowners’ land to promote their cause for a claim to fame– and they don’t belong here, in the trees, chained to equipment, or doing whatever else they have planned to impress their own audience of politically correct idealogues. Professional activists, go home and stay there.

    1. DC

Of course you”re anonymous. I have met a lot of the protesters and I did not meet one who is a professional protester. They have jobs, they have served their country, they have been studying in college. They are literally putting their own lives on hold to support this movement for our environment. Read the About drop-down above if you really want to have some accurate info.

I own land a small plot in the middle of the woods I would like to build my dream house on, were I can’t see my neighbors I have a view of trees It’s I quite little get away. Clear cutters came in, I have about an acre of trees know they did not have permeation to be on my land. The tree big enough for a tree house for my son is gone. The woods behind my house gone. I can see my neighbor and there’s two acres between us. I can’t stand and see the same home anymore.
It’s not fair for us or them and iv seen the destruction we cant even live together anymore in peace.

My prayers for your safety and courage continue, I support the wisdom to stop their greed that continues to destroy our planet. It breaks my heart that more people are hurt by this destruction of their land by these robber barons!!

  9. Crash
