A courageous Texas Landowner defends her property from the Keystone XL Gulf Coast pipeline segment.
And we’re hoping it doesn’t stop with her.
This powerful three minute video is a blueprint for all landowners who feel violated by TransCanada’s land acquisition process, and want nothing more than protection from the threats associated with tar sands. Taking action can be as simple as
insisting on fair treatment.
Please help us spread the word by sharing this video far and wide.
Let it be known that landowners are not powerless, nor is it too late to make a stand. Every delay counts. Take a cue from this landowner and tell TransCanada, “You shall not pass!”

Thank you for taking a stand to protect your land. A private company should not be allowed to take land use from a private land owner against their will. Eminent domain should not be granted for this purpose. It can not be justified under these circumstances. Thank you to all that are standing strong against this pipeline.

can’t they just take it by emminent domain? My sister lost part of her farm that way for a highway.

Mack, From what I understand, some states allow the use of eminent domain if the property is needed for a public project, such as a highway. This may be situation with your sister.
The problem with Transcanada is that they are a foreign private company that is trying to use it for their private development. And of course their entire project has not been approved by any agencies in the US government, which makes their use of eminent domain especially abhorrent.

Good for you Betty Sue. So sorry to hear you were lied to and coerced into something you didn’t want to do.

. Horray for this brave lady. TransCanada is lying to EVERYBODY about the jobs they say they’re creating and much more. They are creating a scorched earth where neither man nor beast can survive.
They have already polluted the water in Alberta, Canada that the nearby indigenous people drink causing the rate of cancer to increase ten fold.
God help us if these polluters, these merchants of death for the earth and all its inhabitants are allowed to carry out their diabolical pipeline.

Thank you for your brave stand against these corporations that don’t care a bit about destroying the land, water, and air…leaving nothing for inhabitants…man or beast.

That was beautiful. Just to see someone stand up for their rights, rather than just lying down and taking it gives me chill bumps.
They claimed imminent domain and then she educated herself. Wow. What a shocker that must have been!
We don’t want to believe that big companies actually LIE to get what they want.

Awesome surveyor! He listened and didn’t interrupt. He then abides by her request. Please people, take an example from her as she gave him a chance to be polite and respectful. Neither was threatening and it was a beautiful interaction between two humans caught in a bad situation.
